A trial on R Kelly’s case will ensue on Wednesday in the United States federal court; the charges against him include sexually abusing underage girls and bribery.
There is a possibility of him spending several years in prison if he happens to be convicted on all charges’ counts.
The Blues singer allegedly took in underage girls for the sole purpose of sexually exploiting them and some of these accusations have been long-standing since the inception of his career in 1990; with the singer denying all accusations.
The R&B musician is facing several charges which include the abuse of minors, sexual exploitation, producing inappropriate pictures of minors and being included in illegal and implicative activities.

R Kelly who also happened to be a sexual abuse victim when he was a child, has had allegations piling up against him for about twenty years while the one time he ever got to face criminal charges was in 2008, although the verdict acquitted him.
Following the denial of his request for bail, Kelly has been held in custody since the July of the year 2019.
There was news of the singer being accosted by an inmate in the correctional facility he was placed is located in Chicago.
Sometime in June 2021, Kelly’s lawyers had disclosed displeasure at working with a new pair of lawyers the musician had hired for his case.

R Kelly’s lawyers – Michael Leonard and Steve Greenberg – tendered their withdrawal from the case 2 months before the date of the trial while they expressed how impossible it was for them to work with the new lawyers hired.
In the concluded Pre trial hearing, R Kelly had admitted shamefacedly having sexual activities with the late Aaliyah at the time she was only a minor.
