Reno Omokri, a former aide to former President Goodluck Jonathan, said the country’s security problems have reached a point where anyone can be assassinated or kidnapped at any time.
In response to the assassination of Major General Hassan Ahmed on Friday, Reno Omokri said, since Gen Hassan’s death, no one in Nigeria is safe.
The Nigerian Army General was assassinated in Abuja on Thursday night, according to multiple sources.
Major Gen Ahmed was assassinated in the Abaji district of the federal capital territory, while his sister, Safina Ahmed, was kidnapped.
According to a family source,
“They opened fire on his vehicle, and the general was killed on the spot. while The driver pretended to be dead from the wound he sustained, so they took the sister away.”
“An emir was kidnapped last week, and a general was murdered yesterday. Think about it. Who then is safe?
“Our only security in Nigeria is God. Our government lacks both the will and the capacity to protect us. Anybody can be killed at any time in any part of Nigeria!”
Recall that Reno had lambasted the Nigerian Government over what he described as dishonesty and double standard the way it handled the Mazi Nnamdi Kanu and Sunday Adeyemo, also known as Sunday Igboho; when compared to how it is handling the issue of bandits and terrorists.
