The Delta State Commissioner of Police, Mohammed Ali, has reportedly relieved two Divisional Police Officers and an Area Commander from their duties due to increasing crime rate under their watch.
The CP, while speaking with the press on Tuesday, February 23, expressed disappointment over the upswing of criminal activities, emphasizing that he will put an end to criminal activities in the state.
He charged the area commanders and DPOs to be alert and make sure their districts are properly guarded and well secured.
He cautioned other senior officers to take their jobs seriously, inorder not to suffer the same fate.
CP Mohammed Ali warned that any officer whose area of jurisdiction records more than three cases of kidnap or robbery will be immediately removed from that area.
According to the CP, the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) are the perpetrators of the chaos and crimes disturbing the state, adding that plans are already on ground to kick them out of the state.
He further cautioned police officers to refrain from extortion as he has zero tolerance for corruption amongst police officers
