Government of the United Arab Emirate has put a hold on Nigerians’ acquirement of Direct Employment Visas so as to curb the increasing rate in crime situations Nigerians have been perpetrating in the country.
Nigerians living in the UAE are complaining about how often some Nigerians perpetrate frauds, steal and con other residents in the Arab country so much that it has affected how people over there view Nigerians.

Demographic research made by Sahara Reporters conveys how at the moment UAE government officials are storming into commercial and private homes owned by Nigerians in their bid to unravel erring Nigerians.
Many Nigerian residents complain of having fallen victims to this unscrupulous search but they cannot fault the government because the crime rate of Nigerians in the country has drastically increased.
A larger number of innocent Nigerians rather than guilty ones have been taken into custodies. This is not at all shedding a good light on Nigerians seeing as more people have to pay for the evil of a few bad ones.
Abike Dabiri-Erewa, chairperson of Issues Relating to Nigerians in Diaspora said that Nigerians who have been taken into custody in the UAE would have to cooperate with the officials so as to be free of allegations against them.
A Nigerian residing in Abu Dhabi admitted that the city has been intense for about one week with the police arresting African migrants without questions due to a cult incident where Nigerians murdered one another.
Nigerians living in Abu Hail, Al Barsha, Sharjaj and Al Qouz were affected by the security raid. Of recent, crimes perpetrated by Nigerians towards the world at large has increased at an alarming rate with cyber crimes being at the top of the list.
This is worrying and defacing to everyone that makes up Nigeria as a whole. However, the living factor in Nigeria can be alleged of being the huge contributing factor to this.
