Bayelsa State Governor, Senator Douye Diri, has suspended three of his social media aides over what he described as “unwarranted infractions”.
Director, New Media to the governor, Kola Oredipe, announced the suspension of the aides in a circular, saying their conduct has brought an unimaginable level of disgrace and embarrassment to the Prosperity Administration.
“After a careful review of the untoward public embarrassment brought upon the Prosperity Government on the social media by the trio of Gift Kenigbolo, Innocent Jumbo and Adu Oyaba Jacob (All Special Assistants), His Excellency, the Governor has approved the immediate suspension without pay of the three of them for a period of three months beginning from January, 2022.
“His Excellency is pained over such unproductive internal media war that has brought disrepute upon this government.
“The Governor has insisted that all his social media aides must show discipline, decorum, self-restraints and professionalism in their public conduct and that this suspension will serve as deterrent to others as such acts of indiscipline would henceforth, not be condoned.
“He warned all those still engaged in unprofessional conduct to stop forthwith and operate within set rules and guidelines with the sole aims of promoting and projecting the programmes and projects of the Prosperity Administration”, Oredipe said.
