A truck fully load with AGO popularly called petrol has caused heavy traffic on losing balance while trying to make a u-turn on Ikwerre road by Education Bus stop in Port Harcourt as the liquid inside the truck were all pouring out.
The truck cross the two dual carnage lane as residents in the area was seen scooping from the wasted fuel on the floor.
Our correspondent reports that through the intervention of the Federal Road safety Corp, federal and state fire services and the mile one police station officers were on ground to take control of the incident.
Our correspondent who spoke to some of the eyewitness reports that the driver of the truck was trying to make a u turn before the driver lost control of the gear.
They said the incident occurred between 4:30 and 5pm, but the help of relevant agents on ground averted disaster that may have occurred.
“The driver wanted to do a U-turn at that T-junction over there, it appears one side of the car enter a hole or something like that, we just thank god that no fire occurred, some people around just helped to avert the unfortunate incidents that would have happened.
“Some of these tanker drivers need to be talked to, how does he think he Can turn in this small place, if not for people?”
Meanwhile, a residential building has collapsed at Aya Mini in Woju, in Obio/Akpor Local Government Area killing one person and two injured .
Some residents in the area said the collapsed is as a result of the heavy rainfall on Tuesday which left many homeless.
Our correspondent who visited the scene of the incident said the building was built on a water way.
When our correspondent approached the owner of the building, he refused to comment on the matter.
