Senator Samuel Nnaemeka Anyanwu has called on aggrieved members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Imo State to sheathe their sword and unite to strengthen the party.
Senator Anyanwu gave the advice in a statement signed by his media aide, Ikenna Onuoha.
He said that whatever that may be their reasons for leaving PDP could be resolved now that measures had been put in place to resolve the issues, adding that dialogue could be effective if they could hearken to his advice and remain in the party.
He said that there are benefits for those in PDP in the future, and stressed the need for all hands to be on deck to actualize the dream.
Senator Anyanwu condemned the actions of some leaders of PDP in the state who hire people to blackmail and insult fellow party members on social media for their selfish interest, noting that such decision, if not redressed is capable of pulling the party down.
He warned that if members of the party continue to toe the same line of direction, it would be difficult for interested persons to join PDP.

Anyanwu, who represented Imo East District in the Senate between 2015 and 2019 further advised leaders and members of the party to pay less attention to their personal interests, pointing out that what should be of importance to them is the way forward to wrestle power from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
He charged members of the party still feeling betrayed in the past to forgive, assuring them of a level playing ground now that a new leadership is in place.
Senator Anyanwu stated that the new leadership of the party is open-minded and ready to work with all members of the party in order to move the party forward.
