Uchechi Anele, a driver and native of Obelle Community in Emohua Local Government Area of Rivers State was shot dead by gunmen in his community, Obelle.
Elder brother to Uchechi, Emmanuel Anele who spoke to our correspondent on Telephone said his younger brother went to the village to pack some of his belongings since people has deserted the village when gunmen shot him dead.
Emmanuel said when he got the information he went and reported the matter to Rumuji Divisional Police headquarters and was given Police escort who accompanied him to the community to evacuate the corpse of his brother to the mortuary.
He dismissed insinuation that his late brother, Uchechi Anele was a cultist.
He said the deceased victim is married with children and gainfully employed and has no record of crime.
Recall that gunmen suspected to be cultists had on April 1, 2022, killed two persons in a farm road in Obelle Community.

A local chief and former acting chairman of Community Development Committe (CDC) in Obelle, Eze Anele Israel in a telephone interview with our correspondent said two persons, named Ibari and one other were killed in Obelle by unknown gunmen on their way back from farm.
Eze Anele told our reporter that the killing has resulted to panic in the community as some natives are fleeing the community.
He disclosed that the incident has been reported to the Police and the Nigerian Army while efforts are on to apprehend the culprits.
Our correspondent reports that the killing in Obelle occupied days after reported killing of four persons in neighbouring Ibaa community in Emohua LGA.
In the meantime, the spokesperson of the state police command DSP Grace Iringe-Koko confirmed the incident, saying that the Commissioner of Police, CP Friday Eboka has deployed six patrol teams to the community to ensure safety of lives and properties.
