The Edo State Government on Monday said there will be a 100 percent increase in the feeding allowance for players of Insurance FC.
The club’s Coordinator, Sabina Chikere announced the increment when he paid a working visit to the players in camp.
Chikere also stated that the kind gesture from the state government was to encourage the players in the ongoing 2020/2021 season of the Nigeria National League (NNL).
She also said the increment was to enable the team avoid distractions as they bid to come back to the country’s elite league at the end of the season, reported the Daily Trust.
According to her, the increment for the feeding allowance was from N3,000 per day to N6,300 daily.
“I want to officially inform you that the Deputy Governor has increased your camp allowance from N9, 000 to N18 900; meaning you will now be receiving N6, 300 daily as against N3, 000.
“Your three days away allowance will now be N18, 900 as against the previous N9, 000,’’ Chikere stated.
The Insurance FC coordinator, who is also the Coordinator of Edo Queens FC, said that the female team also got a similar increment.
Reports has it that the players currently enjoy N15, 000 and N30, 000 match bonuses for home and away wins respectively.
The least and highest-paid players in the club receives N150, 000 and N200, 000 monthly as salary respectively.
