Cross River State Governor, Prof. Ben Ayade has called on Muslims in the country to promote peace, love and unity which he said are the hallmarks of the holy month of Ramadan.
He also urged them to remain content and render selfless service to humanity in accordance with the lessons of the Islamic religious obligation.
Prof. Ayade in his Eid-el-Fitr message which was signed by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Christian Ita, said the lessons of sacrifice, humility and submission of the Ramadan season shouldn’t be lost.
While congratulating the Muslim faithful on the successful completion of their fast, he urged them not to relent in praying for the country and for them to remain steadfast in all that they do.
The Cross River helmsman wishes them a blessed and peaceful Eid-el-Fitri celebration, expressing optimism that things will get better despite the current economic and security challenges.
“Eid-el-Fitr offers an excellent opportunity for Muslims to break barriers and reach out to fellow Nigerians, heal wounds and work toward a united, peaceful Nigeria especially at this time our country is facing myriad of economic and security challenges”, the statement said.
