Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike has felicitated with Nigerian Muslims on the occasion of the Eid-el-Kabir celebration, urging them to emulate the Holy Prophet Mohammed by imbibing the ideals of sacrifice exemplified by the Prophet.
In a Sallah Message, Governor Wike said Eid-el-Kabir is a season of Love, Peace, friendship and sacrifice.
He urged all Nigerians to embrace religious tolerance which will promote peace across the country and enhance national development.
The Rivers State governor, Nyesom Wike who expressed his gratitude to the Muslims faithful in Rivers State in a statement by the state Commissioner for Information and Communication, Paulinus Nsirim, assured the people of Rivers State that the state government will work with the security agencies to ensure that all citizens celebrate the Sallah in peace and harmony.
“We assure you to go about your celebrations peacefully without fear, the Rivers State government is working strongly wit the security agencies to ensure that there is no loss of life during and after the sallah celebration.”
He congratulated the Muslim community in Rivers State on the Sallah celebration, assuring them that his administration will continue to partner with them to move the state forward.
Nyesom Wike who reiterated his commitment in securing the lives and properties of the people of Rivers State, thanked the state Muslim community for the consistent support that they have always extended to his administration.
The governor also frown at how the federal government is playing politics with issues of insecurity in the country, stressing the need for the Muslim community to be fair without fear of anybody in speaking the truth especially in the issues of banditry, kidnapping going on in Nigeria.
He commended the authorities of the Islamic faith on their stands and steadfastness in coordinating their followers against violence and criminal activities in Rivers State.
