Mayor of Port Harcourt City, Allwell Ihunda JP has felicitated with Muslims in Port Harcourt as they celebrate 2021 Eid-el-Kabir.
Allwell Ihunda in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Bob Abayomi urged Islamic faithful to imbibe the spirit of love and peace as they pray against insecurity and economic challenges bedeviling the nation.
The Mayor has told Islamic faithful in the city to celebrate peacefully, be law-abiding and comply with covid-19 protocols as a third wave of the virus is threatening the world.
The statement further appealed to worshippers to wear face masks, maintain physical distancing, wash their hands regularly under running water and ensure the use of alcohol based hand sanitizers as they congregate for prayers.
The Mayor urge Muslims in Port Harcourt to continue to live in peace and harmony with their fellow residents of other faith in the spirit of peaceful coexistence.
He urge them to pray for the success of the administration of Gov Nyesom Ezenwo Wike at all times and always expose undesirable elements who are creating security problems in Port Harcourt City.
Similarly, the Executive Chairman of Bonny Local Government Area, Rt. Hon. Engr. David Rogers Irimagha (JP) has felicitated with Muslims in the LGA, on the occasion of the Eid-El-Kabir celebration, urging them to emulate the holy Prophet Mohammed by imbibing the ideals of sacrifice demonstrate by the prophet.
In his Sallah wishes, Irimagha describes Eid-El-Kabir as a season of Love, Peace, Friendship and Sacrifice.
He further re-assured the people of Bonny LGA that the local government will continue to work with the security agencies to ensure its citizens are safe, while celebrating Sallah in peace and harmony.
He congratulated the Muslim community in Bonny LGA on the Sallah celebration, assuring them that his administration will continue to partner with them to move the LGA forward.
He thanked the Muslim community for the consistent support that they have always extended to his administration.
