Dr Olusegun Mimiko, former Governor of Ondo State, has congratulated Nigerian Muslims on the occasion of this year’s Eid el Maulud, the anniversary of the birth of prophet Muhammad.

Mimiko, in a message by John Paul Akinduro, his Special Assistant on Media and Digital Communications, called on all to remember the season as a time to spread harmony, brotherhood and peace to our neighbors.
He said, “As we share gifts to our families, friends and loved ones, let us not forget to reach out to hundreds of thousands of internally displaced people, refugees and orphans, most of whom found themselves in their present state as a result of insecurity ravaging the country”.
The former governor called for a fairer, just and equitable Nigeria where the spirit of togetherness and compassionate generosity reign supreme.

In the same vein, Ondo National Orientation Agency, NOA Director, Adelayo Adefolalu has enjoined Muslim faithful in the state to celebrate this festive season of Eid-el Maluud which marks the birth of Prophet Muhammad (SAW) to re-emphasize the need for peace, unity, love, tolerance, and prayers for the progress of the country.
The NOA Director in a message made available through the Agency’s Public and Media Relation Officer, Ralph Oguntibeju, Adefolalu congratulated the Muslim populace in the state on the occasion of this year Eid-el-Maluud and
urged them to pray for the unity of the country and offer special prayers against banditry, kidnappings, economy sabotage corrupt service providers, youth restlessness and recklessness.
The NOA boss cautioned Muslims to celebrate this year’s Eid-el-Maluud in line with the Covid-19 protocols by maintaining social distancing, wearing of nose mask and other regulated procedures while observing prayers.
Adefolalu then wished the Muslim faithfuls happy Eid-el-Maluud celebrations.
