Governor Nyesom Wike and the PDP members to have gotten it right this time in selecting the present crop of council chairmen in the state, as some of them appear to be development driven.
In the meantime, the Chairman of Eleme Local Government Area, Hon. Obarilomate Ollor (JP) says his administration would sponsor ten indigent youths of the LGA for training in Dubai.
The Council Chairman made the promise at a birthday dinner party organized in his honour by the Vice Chairperson of the council Hon. Virtue Ekee.
He said: “I have discovered that most of our youths are suffering, I know that we will train them by way of skill acquisition, we will also introduce them to companies that will train them in skills of their choice, but we will not stop there, we may not do all, we may not do everything, we may not satisfy everybody but we will do things to show that we have feelings for our people and we intend to make them move to greater heights.
“What we will be doing in the coming days is that, quietly we will be investigating to know some of our indigent youths who are actually suffering, they have families or their background is really poor, we will investigate to be sure and before the end of my tenure, we will send 10 of them to Dubai, it will be one person in a particular month, what I am saying now, you can take it to the bank, it will happen.”
Similarly, two months after being sworn into office, the Council Chairman of Andoni Local Government Area, Erastus Awortu has purchased official vehicles for the Vice Chairperson and councilors of the LGA.
By this, he has become the first chairman among his colleagues to achieve those feat.
