STUDENTS of the University of AFRICA, Toru-Orua in Bayelsa State are currently protesting against the decision of the management of the university to recall them for the examination despite the dangers posed by the ravaging flood, COVID-19 and the national-wide #EndSARS protest.
Our correspondent gathered from the students that While Some students are agitating that the exams should continue, others are arguing for a week extension to enable students in transit to arrive and join. The last group of students is pushing for a total suspension of all academic activities until things improve.
The University management has directed the student leadership to collate the votes of the students for or against the decision to enable the Senate to action. Voting is ongoing. Recall that the state Governor Douye Diri recently shut down all Primary and Secondary schools for the public interest.
