Nigerian singer and songwriter Adedamola Adefolahan, known professionally as Fireboy DML has proven beyond doubt that he is indeed talented and his efforts were not unrecognized by his fans and followers as the 14th edition of the Headies Award saw him win in five categories.
The talented singer and songwriter was nominated in nine categories of the award, after which he won in five categories which includes; ‘Best R&B Album’, ‘Best R&B Single’, ‘Headies Revelation’, ‘Album of The Year’, and ‘Best Pop’. He was in fact the biggest winner in this year’s edition.
Fireboy grew up in Abeokuta part of Ogun State and was a member of his local church choir. He developed interest in music while studying English Language at Obafemi Awolowo University. He eventually came to limelight with the hit single ‘Jealous’.
He is signed to YBNL Nation, an independent record label founded by Nigerian rapper Olamide. His debut studio album Laughter, Tears and Goosebumps was released in 2019, and Apollo was released In 2020. Fireboy DML’s songs were included in the FIFA 2021 game soundtrack.
