FirstBank CEO Adesola Adeduntan stated that the bank’s durability, steady performance, and development over the last 127 years have been substantially credited to the praiseworthy efforts of the bank’s workers.
Promotion is one of the numerous incentives we employ to reward our employees and boost their passion as they work towards the accomplishment of their individual career goals as well as the delivery of the bank’s strategic objectives. In this regard, the promotions serve to specially thank our employees who worked assiduously with dedication throughout the unprecedented times of the Covid-19 pandemic,.
As a bank, we are committed to grooming and retaining top talents who are motivated to demonstrate and live our core values of entrepreneurship, professionalism, innovation and customer-centricity, he said.
FirstBank provides well-defined career development and talent programs that meet the demands of workers at all levels in terms of leadership development. The SMDP is the bank’s rigorous modular programme for a select group of senior managers and principle managers who have demonstrated leadership in their respective activities and have been selected as critical to the bank’s succession planning. Since its first edition in 2017, the bank has graduated 52 of its outstanding senior personnel.
The LAP was created primarily to instill crucial leadership and change agents inside the bank’s middle management personnel cadre (Assistant Manager – Manager Grade).
The program is an intensive skill development program designed to improve the core leadership and business competencies of the bank’s team leads and functional leaders, who will then drive and advocate for FirstBank’s transformation and innovation core, providing the bank with a sustainable thrust for ensuring superior performance and a talent pool of “change agents.” Over the previous 18 months, 56 cohorts have graduated from the program and are now working in diverse leadership capacities in the bank.
FMAP, on the other hand, is a 24-month fast-track complete development program aimed for young, energetic, self-motivated, and highly motivated individuals with the necessary skill set and strong leadership potential among junior and entry-level personnel. Non-FirstBank workers who match the selection requirements are also eligible for the program. The program began in 2018.
The bank’s enormous advances in influencing its workers were recently recognized by Great Place to Work Institute, which stated that FirstBank acknowledges the indisputable benefits of maintaining a “brand-first” attitude and culture as a crucial component of its business strategy.
“Its brand has evolved over the years, with strengthened manpower development policy to match the constantly evolving expectations of today’s increasingly discerning stakeholders,” the Institute said.
