The National Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party, Prince Uche Secondus has sent a strong warning to the ruling All Progressives Congress over its alleged plan to cajole members of the PDP to defect to the APC.
Prince Uche made this call yesterday February 25 , 2021, while speaking to pressmen after a closed door meeting with one of it’s party foot soldiers, Femi Fani-Kayode at his residence in Abuja.
Chairman however asked the APC to focus on tackling the challenges ravaging the country rather than playing politics gimmicks.
Also reacting to a recent speculation that Fani Kayode may be defecting to the APC soon, the national chairman affirmed that the stalwart was still very much in the PDP and debunked any rumour indicating otherwise.
In his words:
We advise our brothers on the other side, especially some of these governors and leaders of APC that they should face the business of governance.
They are aware that security has broken down, the economy has broken down. They should face that business for which they were elected.
Our brother is firm and a man of his word. There is no amount of trick that will make him sway otherwise. He is firm with PDP and we are back to business while will prepare for 2023.
Also in a response, Fani-Kayode re-established his total solidarity and support for the PDP and said he had no plans to leave anytime soon.
It would be recalled that the rumours of Femi’s defection grew wings when he disclosed pictures of a meeting he had with national caretaker chairman of the APC, Governor Buni and Youth and women mobilization leader of the party, Governor Yahaya Bello.
