The Imo State chapter of the All Progressives Congress, APC, has urged Senator Rochas Okorocha to sit up on his representation of Imo West District or resign from the Senate.

The party made the call in a statement signed by its Publicity Secretary, Cajetan Duke.
The party flayed the senator for attempting to vilify the state governor, Hope Uzodimma in an interview he granted a television channel on January 5, 2022.
Okorocha had pointedly accused Gov. Uzodimma of funding a killer-squad which is responsible for the spate of killings in the state.
The APC described the allegation as wild and filled with hate and vehemence.
The party noted that Senator Okorocha at a point during the interview became so embittered that he, instead of answering questions posed to him rather resorted to making false accusation against Governor Uzodimma.

It also stated that Okorocha equally exposed himself as the proverbial pot calling the kettle black.
The party expressed outrage that the senator would attempt to rubbish the superlative performance of Gov. Uzodimma.
The APC said; “It is a fact that for the first time in many years, there is transparent leadership and inclusive governance in Imo State. For the first time, rainy season started and ended in 2021 without flooding in Owerri – courtesy of balloon drainage technology. For the first time in many years, Owerri is experiencing free-flowing traffic due to the removal of Okorocha’s demonic and outdated roundabouts.
“Unfortunately, he shot himself on the foot by presenting his true lying nature and flippant tongue to the world for denying the fantastic and verifiable accomplishments of Governor Hope Uzodimma, within two years.
According to the party, “Imolites and Nigerians are witnesses to the shoddy and sorry condition Okorocha left the state especially with regard to poorly constructed projects including roads, houses, markets, hospitals and other infrastructure – many have collapsed and more are in such a terrible state of disrepair including the Imo State House of Assembly complex, that they now require complete reconstruction.
“All the roads constructed by Okorocha were so bad they got nicknamed “China roads” by Nde Imo because they were nothing to write home about.
“For eight years, Okorocha wasted Imo resources on ghost projects, white elephant projects, statues and sought to acquire the entire state but was stopped by Governor Uzodimma, who truncated his third term ambition through his son-in-law.”
The APC called on Okorocha to refrain from his distractions and allow Governor Uzodimma to focus on delivering good governance to Imo people.
It further urged Okorocha to desist from playing ‘ostrich politics and grandstanding’, which he used to deceive Imo people for eight years he ruled the state as governor.
The party noted that Okorocha should have reported to the police if he has any serious or incriminating evidence against Governor Uzodimma instead of the mass media.
The APC urged Okorocha to consider the option of resigning as a senator having shown unpardonable incompetence, puerile contradictions, demeaning haughtiness and unruly disposition.
