The former Director-General of NAPTIP and czar in the fight against human trafficking, Dame Julie Okah-Donli has picked the All Progressives Congress, APC, expression of interest form to contest the forthcoming Senatorial primary election in the Bayelsa Central Senatorial district in Bayelsa State.
Mrs Julie Okah-Donli who picked the nomination form on Thursday 28th of April, 2022 spoke to news men shortly after obtaining the form at the APC National Secretariat with her teaming supporters said, she has what it takes to offer effective representation at the red chamber.
With her campaign slogan, “IT’S TIME TO MOVE”, Julie assured the people of Bayelsa Central and the state in general that she would change the narrative of public service in Bayelsa State by selfless service, human capital development and make the people at the grassroots feel the impact of representing them.
Dame Okah-Donli who was received by cheering team of supporters across political parties thank them for their show of solidarity, noting that her decision to contest the election was a divine mission to salvage the people.
Julie Okah-Donli is a lawyer, chartered Secretary and Administrator. She served as the Director General of the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP), an agency established by the Federal Government of Nigeria in 2003 to tackle human trafficking and other related matters.
She is the founder of the Julie Donli Kidney Foundation, an NGO that supports people with kidney disease.
She currently the Chairperson, United Nations Voluntary Trust Fund for Victims of Trafficking in Persons (UNVTF), and Executive Chairman, Roost Foundation.
