A former executive of Netflix, Diego Bunuel, who was accused of raping his wife has a warrant of arrest issued to him from the US still pending.
The 46-year-old was said to have raped his wife, Maggie Kim sometime in 2017 when they were in the United States, according to the lawsuit.
Bunuel saw to the execution of documentaries under Netflix before he now holds the rein at a state broadcasting television in France where he sees to programming.
The wife in question, Maggie Kim, who is a socialite and writer had reported in the court document submitted in 2017 that her husband raped her in the United States ten days after filing for divorce.
The writer who shuffled between France and Los Angeles stated in court papers that she had been terrified for her life and battled for escape when her husband had said he intended harming her.
The former Netflix executive, Bunuel was also reported to not allow their kids who were in his custody to go with their mother to the US even as the children have dual citizenship of both France and the US.
Diego Bunuel who is the grandson of Luis Bunuel, a famous filmmaker, is currently charged with a felony due to the alleged rape of Kim, and even then there has not been much done about his arrest warrant.
According to court documents, the plaintiff sustained evident wounds due to pressure on her body and neck, which has affected her mental state and social relations; according to the lawsuit filed in a court in Massachusetts.
The couple had split in 2017 and are yet to be legally divorced.
The wife and her attorney are reportedly making to reverse a court decision in France declaring the children to be in the custody of their father; while a Massachusetts judge had ruled that the French court could rule on the rape case that happened in the US.
Ryan McGuigan, Kim’s lawyer, stated that the husband was using the children in his custody to evade the arrest.
