The Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, Rivers State Command has called on vehicle owners to desist from indiscriminately parking or abandoning their broken down vehicles on the road either at night or during the day.
In a statement signed by the Ag. Public Education Officer, Rivers State Command Deputy Route Commander, DRC Juliana U. Eni said the Sector Commander Corps, Commander Salisu U. Galadunci worried of the situation issues stern warning for defaulters that the Command will deal decisively with anyone found wanting in the habit.
The statement said the Sector Commander further called on motorists to avoid drunk driving and driving at night when the visibility is poor, urging the public to avail themselves of the opportunity provided by calling FRSC Toll Free Emergency line of 122 to report any of such above mentioned cases when sighted so as to serve the good people of Rivers State better.

DRC Juliana U. Eni statement further advised the public to at all times drive safely.
The Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC Rivers State Command, had said it will commence the seizure of vehicles with invalid and unregistered vehicle number plates.
In a statement, the Public Education Officer of the Command, Deputy Route Commander, Juliana Eni, warned perpetuators including use of old Government number plates by private vehicle owners to desist from it.
The statement noted that the act contributes to insecurity and also contradicts the purpose of the new number plate by the Corps.
The document added that some of the numbers bear inscriptions like ‘Peace Ambassador’, ‘Noble Ambassador’ ‘Odyp-01-SP’ and ‘Leads 02’
In continuation of the Corps Strategic focus to minimize the risk of death in road traffic crashes, the Rivers State Sector Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps had also embarked on a Special Patrol during the Eid El-Kabir celebration as a proactive measure to check driver excesses in traffic so as to prevent road traffic crashes and resultant loss of lives and property.
