Bayelsa state Governor, Senator Douye Diri has commended his Delta State counterpart, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, for the development of his state with legacy infrastructural projects.
Diri made the commendation during his one day visit to the state, which was also used to inaugurate some of the newly completed projects of the Okowa administration.
He stated that Okowa has justified the mandate of the people, adding that he will surely be remembered after his tenure as a man who was passionate about the development of the state.
“There are silent workers, and my brother governor is one of them. It shows that the PDP government is working. For us, Delta and Bayelsa are the same, we share the same challenges and so, we have no choice than to co-operate and work together.
I want to on behalf of the government and people of Bayelsa state, thank you for extending your invitation to us to join you in commissioning these landmark projects”, he stated.
In his remark, Gov. Okowa thanked Diri for accepting to inaugurate the projects and said his government is committed to uplift the standard of living of the people.
According to him, the projects were embarked on because of the direct impact it has on the lives of the people and assured that more projects will be carried out that will continue to change the face of the state.
The projects commissioned were; the reconstructed UBEJI access road from NPA inter-change to Trans-warri Junction, the newly constructed Access road from NPA expressway to warri Refinery and petrochemicals and the newly constructed IGHOGBADU Secondary School, Okumagba Layout, Warri.
