Imo State governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma on Friday, June 4 sacked all his special advisers and senior special assistants totalling about 120.
Gov Uzodimma announced the sack of the aides at a meeting with the affected aides held in Owerri, the state capital.
The governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Oguwike Nwachuku confirmed the development in a telephone chat with our correspondent.
Nwachuku disclosed that the governor acted based on the report of a committee which appraised the performance of the aides.
He quoted the governor as saying that the sack was to enable him rejig the government for better service delivery.
One of the affected aides, Modestus Nwamkpa expressed his profound gratitude for giving him the opportunity to contribute his quota to the task of building the state.

Nwamkpa, who served as Senior Special Assistant, Print Media lauded Gov. Uzodimma as an exemplary and ideal leader.
He said; “He is indeed a very exemplary leader and I have continued to insist on this. Governor Uzodimma is my ideal leader. He is one man I have decided to follow. He is a leader that has won my trust and followership. He has actually won my love.
“So I think today’s dissolution is a good omen for better things to come to Imo state. It is actually to rejig the system for better service delivery.”
