Luck seems to have embraced the artistes who performed at the home coming concert in honour of Burna Boy as the executive Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike promised to give a whooping sum of 10 Million Naira each to all of them.
Recall that the Grammy winner, Burna Boy was given a grand welcome yesterday when he arrived at the city of Port-Harcourt.
Burna Boy later proceeded to the homecoming concert where dignitaries such as Governor Wike and other notable personalities were present.
Wike while speaking to the crowd expressed how proud he is to have such amazing artists exhibit their musical prowess in honour of Burna Boy and affirmed that he will be giving out the sum of 10 Million Naira each to every artist that performed in the concert.
At the peak of the event Wike said:
“Those of you who have come to play, whatever you have agreed with the ministry of culture and tourism is not my business.
“All of you that have come today and the Niger Delta people that have come to play today to show the talent you have, I’m very proud of you. All of you will go home with N10million each,” he added while the audience cheered him
The governor described the Grammy Award winner who is of Rivers descent as the pride of the state when Burna Boy, his parents and management team paid him a courtesy call at the Government House, Port Harcourt.
He congratulated the singer for the honour he has done to the people of the state all over the world, noting that when the news broke that Burna Boy was the winner in the Best Global Music Album category with his album ‘Twice As Tall’, the entire state was elated.
The governor urged Burna Boy not to relent in his musical endeavour as the state government will continue to give him all the necessary support he requires.
