Group Pick N100m APC Nomination Forms for AfDB President, Adesina

A coalition of 28 groups consisting of Youth Arise Movement, Nigerians in Diaspora One Nigeria Group, Prudent Youth Association of Nigeria, women groups, farmers, people with disabilities and other civil society groups had raised the All Progressive Congress(APC) presidential ticket of N100 million fee to purchase the forms for the president of the African Development Bank (AfDB ) and former minister of Agriculture, Dr Akiwumi Adesina.

It was gathered that the AFDB President, Dr Akiwumi Adesina, on Saturday, obtained copies of his Nomination and Expression of Interest forms to vie for the All Progressives Congress presidential ticket.

The coalition is led by the Head, One Nigeria Group, Mohammed Saleh.

The payment acknowledgement slip which was seen by journalists on Saturday carried Adesina’s name as the recipient of the forms.

A youth group, under the aegis of Prudent Youth Association of Nigeria, PYAN, had in January urged Akinwumi to join the race for 2023 presidential election.

According to the group, Adesina has outstanding qualities needed at the critical moment to address the myriad of problems confronting Nigeria as a nation.
