Unknown gunmen have attacked Umuogudu Akpu Ngbo Community of Ohaukwu Local Government Area of Ebonyi State and reportedly abduct five persons, including a village head.
It was gathered that the incident happened at about 2 p.m. on Thursday, April 1, when the gunmen stormed the community in military uniforms and captured the village head, Deacon John Ulebe Nnaji alongside four others.
The incident was said to have caused chaos and panic in the community, leaving many injured.
An eye witness, Mr. Amos Otubo, told newsmen the gunmen arrived on motorcycles and no alarm was raised as they disguised as military officers, when they abducted the five men.
According to the eye witness, the gunmen arrived the village in motor bikes and we’re in military uniforms
The community people felt relaxed when they saw the gunmen, thinking that they were military men on special duty considering the crisis in Effium Community in Ohaukwu Local Government Area of Ebonyi State, The Nation reports.
