Unknown gunmen on Monday, April 26, continued the reign of terror on security formations in Imo State as they torch the Okigwe South Police Zonal Command headquarters at Orieagu in Ehime Mbano Local Government Area of the state.
The gunmen shot and killed five police officers on duty during the attack.
The spokesman of the state Police Command, Orlando Ikeokwu, who confirmed the attack to our correspondent, said the hoodlums could not raze the facility.
He however added that one of their officers cannot be accounted for as at the time of the interview with our correspondent.
He said: “I can confirm an attack on Okigwe South Area Command headquarters by yet-to-be-identified gunmen, five officers have been killed, while one is yet to be accounted for”.
