Yahaya Muhammed Galadima, a 25-year- old auto mechanic, is currently in the hospital after being ambushed by gunmen who severed his hands in Nasarawa State.
Galadima, who specialized in servicing J5 vehicles, was ambushed and attacked by gunmen while returning from Rukubi in Nasarawa State’s Doma Local Government Area.
Galadima reflected on his experience:
“It happened around 8:00pm. I was with one of my apprentices, Salisu Haruna, who followed me to Rukubi in Doma Local Government Area of the state.
We went there on my motorcycle to work in one of my customer’s houses as his J5 bus had developed some mechanical fault.
While on our way back from Agbabo along Rukubi before Yeluwa, all of a sudden we were ambushed. Before we knew what was happening both of us fell off my motorcycle.”
Galadima went on to say that the shooters took all of the money he had on him at the moment, as well as his phone.
He claimed they seized his motorcycle after inflicting many machete injuries on him.
“Before asking them what was wrong, they cut off my two hands,” he further stated
ASP Nansel Ramhan, a spokesman for the Nasarawa State Police Command, confirmed the occurrence and urged members of the public to provide relevant information to the police that would lead to the arrest of the perpetrators.
