The attack on security agencies is still persisting as unknown gunmen invaded the premises of the Safer Highways base of the Nigeria Police in Nabordo, Bauchi State reportedly killing a Police Inspector and a civilian in the attack.
Over 10 policemen have been killed in the line of duty in the last two weeks.
It will be recalled that Nigerdeltaconnect had earlier reported that over 30 police officers have been killed in the last three months. The officers were either killed by unknown gunmen, hacked to death or set ablaze by hoodlums.
It was gathered that pandemonium broke out at the premises as fully armed gunmen, raided the base and opened fire on the police inspector.
Reports say the inspector, simply identified as Ibrahim, was with his friend, who was reportedly shot dead alongside the inspector, reports Daily Trust.
His deceased friend was identified as Uba Sama’ila and is said to be the son of the Ward Head of Nabordo.
Meanwhile, the state Police spokesman, Ahmed Wakili, has confirmed the incident, saying it happened on Saturday night.
He assured the people that the Commissioner of Police, Abiodun Alabi, has deployed more patrol teams in the area.
