Gunmen on Saturday, May 29, razed Atta Divisional Police Headquarters in the Njaba Local Government Area of Imo state.
They also torched the Atta Magistrate and High Courts as well as the community’s Health Centre.
Our correspondent gathered that the burning down of the police station and court complexes took place between 1:00 and 2:00 am.
Sources told our correspondent that the invaders shot sporadically for about an hour before torching the facilities in the community.
The traditional ruler of the community, Eze Remigius Azike, told our correspondent that the incident took place when the villagers had gone to bed.
A former President General of the community, John Agbasi said the community was in pains.

Agbasi recalled the burning down of the house of the President General of the community, Chijioke Duruonyeokwu a week ago by unknown persons.
He disclosed that Duruonyeokwu’s wife was killed durng the incident.
Agbasi called on government to come to their rescue, saying that insecurity was on the increase in the area.
“I was the one who built the police station and the magistrate court and mobilised youths under the auspices of Transformation Ambassadors of Atta Nwambieri to build the High Court. I did this so that our people will have access to government facilities.
“This is just one week after they razed the house of our President General and killed his wife. The government should come to our rescue”.
When contacted, the police spokesperson in the state, Bala Elkana, said that he was yet to be briefed on the matter.
