Eden Hazard is currently not available for selection for the Belgian national team due to injury and Roberto Martinez has come out to show support for the forward.
Meanwhile, Real Madrid is yet to get the best of Hazard since his arrival from Chelsea as repeated injury problems have hindered the Belgian forward from ever establishing himself in Zinedine Zidane’s team.
Speaking to a press conference on Friday, March 26, 2021 Martinez said:
“Hazard is desperate to play again,”
“I think Eden is calm in all situations, but at this moment he is desperate to be on the pitch. “When you are a player who can’t get on the pitch, you will feel strange.”
Even though Hazard has always been a victim for bad tackles throughout his career, Martinez was quick to note that this was the first time the forward has been absent from the game for so long.
“It’s hard when you’ve been playing for 12 or 13 seasons at 90 minutes and suddenly you can’t do what you’ve always done”.
Daily mail earlier repsorted that Eden Hazard might ‘never play football again’ if he does a third ankle operation, according to claims from a Spanish doctor.
He is currently nursing another ankle injury at the moment and is understood he might want another operation.
But Dr Jose Gonzalez, who works for Atletico Madrid, warned that a third ankle operation might damage Hazard’s footballing career
He told Ondacero:
‘Hazard has to train with the team for up to 10 training sessions.
‘In my experience it is difficult for him to return to playing at his level with Real Madrid this season.
‘If a player returns after a long injury without having hardly trained, the most normal thing is that he is injured again.
