The seven Nigerian Air Force (NAF) officers who died in a plane crash have been buried today at the National Cemetery Abuja.
Recall that the aircraft, a NAF201 B350, reportedly developed engine problem on Sunday, February 21 in Minna, Niger State and crash-landed at the final approach path of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport runway 22 around 10:48am and immediately went up in flames.
The tragic incident prompted an outpouring of grief nationwide.
NAF authorities said investigations into the remote and immediate cause of the crash have commenced.
Authorities claim that the crashed aircraft was scheduled to conduct surveillance missions as part of the synergy to secure the release of the abducted Kagara students before the tragic incident.
Meanwhile, President Muhammadu Buhari has condoled with NAF and families of the deceased while describing the incident as “a national tragedy.”
