Lingard further scored a brace at home against Leicester City also in the first half with West Ham winning by 3-2 while his four goal was scored against Newcastle in the 80th minutes of the second half with West Ham losing the match by 3-2.
Amazingly, all the games that the 28 years old midfielder scored in the month of April ended 3-2; Wolves v West Ham 3-2, West Ham v Leicester City 3-2, Newcastle v West Ham 3-2.
Jesse Lingard has been on fire since he joined West Ham on loan in January from Manchester United having scored 9 goals in 13 appearances.
Lingard beats other players nominated for this category such as Liverpool’s Trent Alexander-Arnold, Leeds United’s Stuart Dallas, Manchester United’s Mason Greenwood, Leicester City’s Kelechi Iheanacho, West Bromwich Albion’s Matheus Pereira, Newcastle United’s Allan Saint-Maximin and Burnley’s Chris Wood to win the award.
He was nominated both in the month of February and March but could not scale through as the winner as Nigerian and Leicester City forward Kelechi Iheanacho won the last edition for the month of March.
