Again, hoodlums carried out another attack on security agencies as gunmen reportedly set newly renovated police headquarters ablaze at Aboh Mbaise in Imo state. Just this week, there has been at least five attacks on security agencies in Nigeria.
According to Reports, the attack occurred at the late hours of Thursday, February 25. It was gathered that there was chaos in the area as policemen engaged the hoodlums who were said to have been mobile in a gun battle until they retreated. Reports say the hoodlums carried flammable objects on their arrival and ignited the station and left a few minutes after the facility caught fire.
According to reports, the incident caused a huge tension in the area as residence scampered for safety. Some inmates were said to have escaped as a result of the attack.
Further investigation revealed that no rifles were lost from the attack although all files and documents belonging to the police were lost during the attack.
Meanwhile, the State Police spokesman Orlando Ikeokwu, had confirmed the incident noting that no officer died from the attack but few officers obtained injuries.
