You leave the window open whenever possible. It will be nice if you could remove the source of the offending smell.
Eat little. Food can work for you, and also be against you, it will be good if you avoid heavy food, and go for something light. Going hungry might also trigger a headache and could make you even more nauseous. In case you eat anything, stay at least an hour before you start.
Keep your eyes closed. Keeping your eyes closed is a very good one to avoid emotion sickness. If you can’t sleep, it would be best to keep your eyes closed and get some rest.
Sit in front. The front seat will give you enough space to look through, and the rides is less bumpy in front, so the best thing is to sit in the front seat, to focus on a fixed point in a distance.
Take breaks. Taking breaks will also help the driver to rest. Stop the car, as many times as possible. it is necessary if the journey is long. Breathe deeply from your stomach as it helps you to relax.
Read at home. If you are focusing on a fixed point in a car, and again, your brain is confused by the feeling of motion and you being stationary. Let your senses confirm you are on the move. So, just try not to read.
