Singer and songwriter, Timaya has disclosed that he can never go broke again.

The singer who recently shared his grass to grace story made this known in an Instagram post.
He said that some things are not just likely to ever happen again in his lifetime.
“Some things ain’t possible again. Like getting broke. Never!😊 CHULO way”.

Interim Timaya Odon was born in Port Harcourt, Rivers State. He grew up as part of a large family; the youngest of fifteen children in Agip Estate, Port Harcourt. His father was a banker and his mother was a trader.
Timaya moved to Lagos to join Eedris Abdulkareem’s hip-hop group as a backup vocalist. After three years working for Eedris, Timaya departed from the group to focus on his solo career. He began to record collaborations with fellow up-and-coming artists and made his first cameo appearance in an unreleased music video by UDX, a Lagos-based rap group. He subsequently met producer Obaksolo in Mafoluku, Oshodi, who produced his first major hit record “Dem Mama”.
Meanwhile, he gained further visibility and international prominence through his third studio album ‘De Rebirth’.

His work has earned him several notable awards and nominations including four Headies Awards wins, 2 AFRIMMA Awards wins, one Nigeria Music Award and an NEA Award.
Timaya also set up his record label, DM Records Limited. Under which he groomed artists such as Patoranking and Runtown.
