Imo State Commissioner of Police, CP Rabiu Hussaini who officially retired from active service on Friday, March 25 after 32 years in the Nigerian Police Force says he has no regret working as a cop.

Hussaini stated this at weekend while speaking to newsmen, officers and men of the command at the valedictory event held at the Command’s headquarters, Owerri.
Hussaini, who retired for attaining the age of 60 years, thanked the Inspector General of Police, IGP Alkali Baba Usman, Imo Governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma and officers of the command for their support.
According to him, their support aided the successes he recommended in the police profession.

He urged Nigerian youths to join en masse the police force to help avert depleting manpower in the force in order to sustain the efforts to rid Imo State and Nigeria in general of security challenges.
Hussaini also urged his would-be successor, officers and men of the command to remain committed, impartial, corrupt-free, and always ensure justice, fairness and equity while discharging their respective responsibilities.
The ex-CP said, “I have no regret being a police officer and if I have another opportunity, I will also be a policeman because I really enjoyed myself being in service.
“Today in Imo, I am leaving with so much legacy. We were able to stimulate our men and enhance their operational capacity to combat crimes and criminality in the state.
“But all these our achievements were made possible with the collective support and cooperation of the Inspector General of Police, Imo State Governor and officers and men of this command.”
The Deputy Commissioner of Police, DCP, in charge of Operations, Mamman Giwa is acting as Commissioner of Police in the state till a new substantive CP is appointed for the state.
Surprisingly, the first assignment of the acting CP was to visit the bombed Otoko Divisional Police Headquarters in Obowo Local Government Area of the state.
Hoodlums attacked the Divisional Police Headquarters with petrol bomb on Monday morning.
