The Okigwe Autonomous Community in Okigwe Local Government Area of Imo State on Saturday, May 7 erupted in an orgy of celebration and conviviality as her illustrious son, Chief Don Chibuike Linus-Onwukaike was installed the Traditional Prime Minister (TPM) of the community.

Top dignitaries from all walks of life graced the occasion during which the community showcased her rich cultural heritage.
The revered Nze na Ozo Okigwe, who were adorned in their traditional regalia performed the solemn installation.
In his speech, the traditional ruler of the community, HRH Eze Dr Bob Ezuma eulogized Chief Onwukaike for his contributions to the uplift of the community.
The royal father who was represented by the President-General of Okigwe Town Development Union (OTDU), Chief Jude Onwuchekwa expressed gratitude to God for approving the installation of Chief Onwukaike as the TPM of the community.

On completion of the installation rituals by the Nze na Ozo, the traditional ruler presented the OTANNOCHIRI to the Okigwe people.
Eze Ezuma expressed confidence that God who approved the installation would grant the OTANNOCHIRI the wisdom and sound health to perform the duties of his office creditably.
The natural ruler also enjoined the people of Okigwe to cooperate with the TPM for the peace and progress of the community.
In his acceptance speech, Chief Don Chibuike Linus-Onwukaike expressed his profound gratitude to God and the people of Okigwe Community for his installation as the TPM.
He pledged to discharge his duties without fear or favour, while promising to dispense justice to all.
He said; “I accept the honour done me. I will by grace of God discharge my duties fairly without fear or favour. I promise to uphold justice at all times. I thanked my wife Lolo Lois Chidinma Onwukaike and my children for their support.
“I also thank Ndi Nze na Ozo’ Okigwe, the Town Union and Okigwe people for the confidence they reposed on me and prayed God to grant all our visitors journey mercies to their various destinations.
“I am accessible and will run an open-door and all-inclusive administration based purely on customary and traditional matters”.
