The Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party PDP, Imo State chapter, Ogubundu Nwadike has resigned from his position.

.Nwadike said his decision to resign was for personal reasons and after due consultation with family members and mentors.

In a letter dated Tuesday, September 14 and addressed to the state Chairman of the party, Charles Ugwuh, Nwadike described his resignation as one done in good faith since there was no altercation between him and any member or official of the party.

He expressed his profound gratitude to the PDP for offering him the opportunity to serve the party.

Our correspondent gathered that Nwadike’s letter of resignation had been received by the office of the state Chairman which acknowledged receipt via a stamp of the party dated Wednesday, September 15.

The letter reads in part; “This is to finally inform you of my decision to resign from my position as the state publicity secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP Imo State.

“My resignation takes effect immediately. I thank the PDP for giving me the opportunity to serve the party.”

The Director General, Imo Peoples Democratic Party New Media, Collins Opurozor declined responding to a question on Nwadike’s resignation.

But he assured that the PDP will still be intact and strong more than ever.

According to Opurozor, anybody wishing or praying to polarize or weaken the PDP will meet a brick wall.

He said; “The Peoples Democratic Party in Imo State is still intact and strong now more than ever.

“Every prayer, action and activity geared towards polarizing or weakening the party will fail, in fact turned to exercise in futility.

“On your question about resignation, I can’t speak on that.”
