Inter Milan midfielder, Arturo Vidal will undergo surgery on his left knee, the Serie A leaders announced on Thursday.
Inter Milan said in a brief statement:
“Arturo Vidal will undergo surgery tomorrow (Friday) for meniscal pain in his left knee”.
The injury could keep the former Barcelona, Juventus, Bayern Munich and Bayer Leverkusen player sidelined for up to a month, according to The Guardian.
Vidal, who moved to Inter from Barcelona last summer, has scored two goals in 30 games since his move, and will not be available for Inter’s next three league games before the international break. These games are against Torino, Sassuolo and Bologna.
Inter Manager, Antonio Conte could have the 33-year-old back for the game against Cagliari on April 11 or Napoli the following week, depending on how fast the injury heals.
Inter are currently top on the log of the Serie A, with a six-point lead over AC Milan as they go in search of a first league title since 2010, with defending champions Juventus four points behind in third place.
