The Indigenous People of Biafra and its militant arm, Eastern Security Network have reportedly ambushed and killed their witch-doctor, one Paschal Okeke in Imo State.
The state Commossioner of Police, CP, Abutu Yaro confirmed this in a statement issued by his media aide, Michael Abatam.
According to the CP, the adherents of the separatist organization were angered by the lack of potency of the charms prepared by the juju priest for protection of its members.
Yaro said the decimation of the organization by the security operatives forced its remnants to turn their guns on the juju priest, decapitated and burnt his body.
The top cop further disclosed that the militants also razed Okeke’s house in Umudim Ukwu Orji Awo-Omama in Oru East LGA of the state.
While commending police operatives for their gallantry in decimating IPOB and ESN, Yaro warned the remnants of the group to surrender and be rehabilitated or face dire consequences.
The statement reads, “Arising from the ceaseless raids on IPOB/ESN camps all over the state and its environs and the successful neutralisation of the terror groups by Imo State Police Command under the watch of the indefatigable Commissioner of police, CP Abutu Yaro, the remnants of IPOB/ESN groups turned the gun on their juju priest, one Paschal Okeke of Umudim Ukwu Orji Awomama in Oru East LGA of Imo State, on 25/6/21.
“They shot him, decimated his remains, excised the head and burnt the body and his house for the futile efficacy of the charms he had given the group over time and the colossal failure to protect them from police bullets.
“That, large sums of money were funnelled to the deceased with promises of invincibility and decimation by the the police troops.
“The Commissioner of police commended officers and men of Imo Command in the ongoing campaign to decimate armed terrorists who disguised as IPOB/ESN militia.
“And warned in strong terms, the remnants of the terror groups to return to peace and get rehabilitated or face unforseen consequences.”
