As Muslims celebrate Eid-el-kabir all over the world, the Chief Imam of the Rivers State Central Mosque, Malik Yahaya has called on Muslim across the country to continue to remain peaceful and united to enhance more protections of all leaders in the country.
Malik Yahaya said this in his Eid-el-kabir message to Muslims at the Rivers State Central Mosque prayer ground in the old Port Harcourt Township.
He also called on Muslim faithful not to relent in praying for the leadership of the country especially now that the country is experiencing security challenges.
Malik Yahaya while expressing worry over the state of insecurity affecting the country, called on government at all levels to use the resources at their disposal to embark on policies and programs to promote peace and unity of the nation.
Meanwhile, the Vice Presidents General of Nigeria Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs, Nasir Ohor in his Eid-el-kabir message called on Muslims across the country to maintain all COVID-19 preventive measures to remain alive.
He urged all youths across the country to shun all forms of youths restiveness and hard drugs to enhance good citizens.
Meanwhile some Muslims faithful’s who spoke to our correspondent said preaching unity and peace remain the panacea for peaceful coexistence.
Similarly, the Rivers State Leader of Imams and Islamic scholars, Alhaji Halliru has urged Muslim faithful to embrace peace and love as preached by Prophet Mohammed.
Speaking with our correspondent, Halliru Imam, while explaining that the celebration of sallah this year was done in a low key considering the hardship and insecurity across the country, emphasized the impact of the Sallah on Islamic religion across the world
Halliru Imam, however, commended the Rivers State governor, Nyesom Wike for his love and supports for the Muslim community in Rivers State and his relentless efforts in ensuring that peace is maintained in the state.
