The Chairman of Obio/Akpor Local Government Area, George Ariolu has thanked the Executive Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike for the first official state engagement, and the opportunity to serve his people as the executive chairman.
Speaking at the flag-off of the commissioning of the Oginigba/Elekohia link roads, the Council Boss seized the opportunity to commend Governor Wike and the good people of the LGA for the privilege and specifically congratulated the governor on his successful two (2) years in second tenure as governor of the state.
The Oginigba/Elekohia link roads lead to the largest Supermarket in West Africa and other big Industries.
It will be recalled that the poor state of these roads affected business activities until the urban renewal of Governor Wike was used to change the narrative.
In his speech, the people’s chairman, enumerated projects that was flagged off, completed and commissioned within Governor Wike’s six (6) years in office, whilst he prayed for God’s grace upon his life.
“Sir, within six (6) years of your administration, our dear state has witnessed flag-off, completion and commissioning of diverse impactful projects in the Twenty-three (23) Local Government Areas, in line with the blueprint and policy thrust of your administration across all sectors.
Speaking further, Ariolu said the link road will ease vehicle and human movement within the Trans/Amadi Industrial Area, which is the economic nerve of the state and therefore, the importance of the link roads need not be over emphasized.
“It is obvious that the link roads in Port Harcourt will help to ease traffic in the city and apart from easing off traffic, it will help for the free flow of human movement in and out of the city. This achievements, no doubt will enhance business activities in the LGA”, he said.
