Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello has berated the constant accusations of money laundering against him by the People’s Democratic Party.
Bello while reacting to some allegations levelled against him and a call for his probe, said the opposition was only displaying a scene of it’s “usual comedy show”.
Recall that there has been tons of allegations against the governor by Senator Dino Melaye who fronts his group called anti-corruption network.
The group fronted by Dino has been reported to have submitted their findings and evidence alongside a petition to investigate the financial dealings of Bello to some anti-graft agencies in Abuja.
The Kogi State Governor however said the recent yearning for his probe by the PDP was as a result of their paranoia and insecurities owing to his rising political profile in the country.
In a statement released by his Commissioner for Information, Kingsley Fanwo, yesterday, this is what Bello had to say:
It is one of their comedies.
They just need to separate the reality in government from the Nollywood they have joined.
Like everyone, we are seeing it as another comedy. Our former Senator is doing well in his industry.
He just needs to tell EFCC that he was acting a fiction. That will complete the process.
The rising profile of the governor (Bello) is already a threat to the opposition. They felt they could slow him down.
It was earlier reported that the People’s Democratic Party had sent a message to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, seeking a financial investigation of Yahaya Bello and the state coffers.
