Contrary to social media reports that former President Goodluck Jonathan has joined the ruling All Progressives Congress, (APC), Nigerdeltaconnect can confirm that the story is false.
On Wednesday, September 15, some social media reports stated that Jonathan has joined the APC, a development which drew mixed reactions among Nigerians.
The report came on the heels of several speculations that the former president has been promised the ticket of the APC for the 2023 presidential election and has accepted the offer.
Recently, posters of Jonathan and the Attorney-General and Minister of Justice, Mr Abubakar Malami, surfaced in Abuja, which also attracted mixed reactions.
Jonathan has remained silent in the face of the rumours, leaving most Nigerians confused about the issue.

But APC’s deputy national publicity secretary, Mr. Yekini Nabena denied the former president had dumped the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the APC.
Nabena, who hails from Bayelsa State like Jonathan, maintained that there is no iota of truth in the speculation to “the best of his knowledge”.
“As at this moment, there is nothing like that. If the former President, Jonathan decides to join the APC, it can’t be a hidden event. We will naturally celebrate it.
“As a chieftain of the APC, I am aware that anybody who wants to join the party would start from the ward level. To the best of my knowledge as a Bayelsan, I am not aware of anything like that yet”.
Jonathan, took over from his then boss the late Alhaji Umaru Musa Yar’ Adua after his demise and ruled the country from May 2010 to May 2015 before he lost his reelection bid to President Muhammadu Buhari.
