Kwara United are back to the top of the 2021 Nigeria Professional Football League after beating 10-man Warri Wolves 2 goals to nil, while Dakkada Fc came from two goals down to beat Kano Pillars 2-3 on Sunday at Uyo.
The victory for Kwara United took them to 25 points as Kano Pillars remained on 23 points with Eyinmba on third with 23 points as they played out a goalless draw with Jigawa Golden Stars.
Stephen Jude scored the opener for kwara United in the 8th minute before Michael Ohanu made sure they went home with all three points after scoring in the 58th minute.
Pillars were trying to make sure they hold on to the top spot on the table before an amazing second half display from Dakkada Fc saw them crashing to 2-3 defeat.
Rabiu Ali scored the first goal for Pillars from a spot kick in the 10th minute before Gerome Henchong scored a thumping header from Auwalu Malam’s cross to give the ‘Masu Gida’ boys’ their second of the afternoon.
However, Christian Ekong scored in the 38th minute to reduce the score line for the hosts and Philips Archibong restored parity in the 48th minute to get the game level.
Substitute Isaac George scored a 76 minutes penalty to hand Dakkada the maximum points.
In another game played in Uyo, Akwa United thrashed Rivers United 3-0 with goals from Captain Mfon Udoh , Charles Atshimene and Morice Chukwu in the 40th, 55th, and 89th minute respectively.
Enugu Rangers won the ‘oriental derby’ played at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Stadium with an outstanding 2-0 victory over neighbours, Heartland FC Owerri.
According to Daily Trust, Lobi Stars of Markudi returned to winning ways with a 2-1 win over Katsina United, Plateau United play a 0-0 draw with FC Ifeanyi Ubah at Nnewi just as Adamawa United and Sunshine Stars shared the spoils.
Meanwhile, in the games played on Saturday, Abia Warriors defeated Wikki Tourists 1-0 at Okigwe.
The last game of Match Week 13 will be played today, the fixture is between MFM and Nasarawa United at the Agege Township Stadium in Lagos.
