Sevilla coach Julen Lopetegui has predicted that Erling Braut Haaland has the capacity to dominate the Champions League for years to come following the big Norwegian’s display as he helped fire Borussia Dortmund into the quarter-finals.
After Haaland broke more Champions League records with two goals in Tuesday’s last 16, return leg, Lopetegui said:
“We were punished by a player who will dominate an era,”
However, Sevilla earned a 2-2 draw after Youssef En-Nesyri scored his second goal of the night with a thumping header towards the end of the game but Dortmund scaled through 5-4 on aggregate with Haaland having a Man of the Match performance.
The Norwegian wonder kid has now scored a career total of 20 champions league goals in just 14 appearances.
In the history of the champions league, no other player has scored so many goals at that rate at such a young age.
On the same night the 20 year old shattered the champions league goals record, as Cristiano Ronaldo and Juventus were eliminated from the competition by Fc Porto on away goals rules.

According to the Guardian, as Ronaldo and Lionel Messi footballing careers keep winding down, Haaland looks set to become the next champions league superstar.
With Haaland in the team and Dortmund progressing to the next round, more goals are sure to follow.
Danish midfielder Thomas Delaney who recovered the ball for Haaland’s opening goal said:
“It’s a privilege to play with Erling. I don’t have to tell you about his skills, but it’s his mentality that is great.
“He’s young and hungry, he hasn’t suffered many setbacks, which is maybe why he’s so positive and thinks he can conquer the world. But it’s inspiring”.
