The State Criminal and Intelligence Department has taken over the case of One Kinika Eke aged 24 years who allegedly defiled a 4 year old daughter of his Church member at Ozuoba in Obio/Akpor LGA
The mother of the little girl told our correspondent that her husband took the suspect Eke as their brother because they attend the same church.
The mother of the alleged defilement survivor said they have been assisting the suspect financially and sometime leaves the house for him and their daughter due to the trust.
She disclosed that she came back to the house last week and her daughter was in severe pains, touching her private part.
She said her daughter told her that the suspect allegedly tampered her private part as penetration of the private part was established by a medical examination.
Recall that the Rivers State Police command has re-arrested one forty year old man, Azuna who allegedly defiled a 12-year-old girl at Eleme in August 2021 after Eleme Police Division released him under unclear circumstance.
The suspect Azunna was brought to the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (SCIID) by the Police Division in Eleme.
It may also interest you to know that the National Coordinator of Centre for Basic Rights Protection and Accountability Campaign, Prince Wiro on Tuesday called on the Police Commissioner of Police, CP Friday Eboka to prevail on the Police Division in Eleme to rearrest the suspect.
Wiro who confirmed that SCID has taken over the case, commended the Commissioner of Police in the State, CP Friday Eboka for ensuring the transfer of the matter to SCIID and called for proper investigation with a view to serving justice on the matter.
Also, a human rights advocacy group, the Centre for Basic Rights Protection and Accountability Campaign had petitioned the Rivers State Commissioner of Police, CP Eboka Friday on alleged invasion of woman privacy and watching her nakedness by a Policeman simply identified as Benjamin attached to Mile 1 Diobu Divisional Police headquarters.
In a petition dated September 6, 2021 and signed by its National Coordinator, Prince Wiro, which was cited by our reporter, the group urged CP Eboka Friday to order an investigation into the alleged invasion of the room of Ebube (Surname withheld) at Ogwa street, Mile 1 Diobu Port Harcourt by Officer Benjamin and the threat to shoot her when the lady who was staked naked as at the time the officer invaded her privacy asked the Policeman to leave her room to enable her dress up.
Wiro posited that a thorough investigation is required to ensure justice to all the parties involved.
