Speaking to our reporter, the mother of the victim, Blessing Cosmos explained how she was informed of her child’s father maltreatment on their first child.

“One of my neighbor called me that i should come and take my children away from their father because he will killed them, when I got back from work the next day, my neighbor showed me video where the father of my children tied my first son with rope and blood showing on his body.

Solomon said he was rescued when he escape to a neighbour’s house.

In the meantime, the Coordinator, Rivers State Response Team on Violence Against Women & Children, Tombari Dumka-Kote, said that Ebong will be made to face the full wrath of the law.

He lamented how the child told the Team that when his dad came to school to drag him and started beating him, he saw a school teacher and cried for help but the teacher ignored him, without any questioning of why he was been roughly handled by the father in the school premises.

Dumka-Kote said it was a sad tale to tell, that the little boy was so tortured by his father on an unfounded allegation that he left with the gate key to school. He thanked the neighbours and community members of Fimie town for coming to the rescue of the child.
