One Stephen Ebong have been arrested by the Rivers State Police command for battering and tying up his eleven year old boy at Fimie community in Port Harcourt Local Government Area.
Our correspondent reports that when the alarm was raised by neighbors, the Rivers State Response Team on Violence against Women & Children, in conjunction with the state Ministry of Women Affair alerted the police which lead to his arrest.
Stephen was reported to have battered and throw out his wife who had four children for him and holding back the children, while the victim is their first son.
Speaking to our reporter, the mother of the victim, Blessing Cosmos explained how she was informed of her child’s father maltreatment on their first child.
“One of my neighbor called me that i should come and take my children away from their father because he will killed them, when I got back from work the next day, my neighbor showed me video where the father of my children tied my first son with rope and blood showing on his body.
“I want the father of the children to tell me how him go they feed them because I will go with my children”.

Also the vIctim, Solomon Stephen told our correspondent that his father tied him up after coming to the school to ask him if he was with the key to their house gate, saying that he was lying.
Solomon said he was rescued when he escape to a neighbour’s house.
In the meantime, the Coordinator, Rivers State Response Team on Violence Against Women & Children, Tombari Dumka-Kote, said that Ebong will be made to face the full wrath of the law.
He lamented how the child told the Team that when his dad came to school to drag him and started beating him, he saw a school teacher and cried for help but the teacher ignored him, without any questioning of why he was been roughly handled by the father in the school premises.
Dumka-Kote said it was a sad tale to tell, that the little boy was so tortured by his father on an unfounded allegation that he left with the gate key to school. He thanked the neighbours and community members of Fimie town for coming to the rescue of the child.
